Before you get your computer reimaged
When your computer is reimaged, both My Documents and the D drive will remain intact.We recommend you:
- Back up any important files you have on your C drive (use a flashdrive)
- Back up My Documents and your D drive just in case (not necessary, but recommended)
- Back up files on your desktop
- Save your favorites/bookmark list from Internet Explorer or Firefox
- Save any auto-filled passwords you may have forgotten. In Firefox: go to Tools > Page Info > View Saved Passwords > Show Passwords, then clear the Search field and press Enter. This will display a list of all auto-saved passwords.
- Make a list of programs that you had installed (may use screenshot)
After you get your computer reimaged
- Reload any saved IE/Firefox favorites
- Reload any non-school files to your C drive, and not My Documents
- Reinstall any programs/home internet connections/home printer connections if necessary
- Modify the Backup location for OneNote files so that your backup will be on your D:Drive. (In OneNote click on File, then Options, then click on "Save & Backup", "click on Backup Folder under save list" Click Modify, click on D:Drive and select OneNote Bakup folder just created, clicko on Select, Click on OK, and Click on OK to the popup)
