Connecting at Home
While it is not a requirement to be able to connect the Tablet PC to the internet at home, it certainly offers some advantages. To do this you must have access to the internet at home - it is not included with the computer. There are 2 common types of connections to the internet: DSL connection and cable modem. There are also 2 ways your Tablet PC can connect to your internet provider: a network cable (RJ45) connector (slightly larger than a phone connection) from the network card; and wireless, through the included wireless network card in the computer. It is fairly easy to add a wireless router to your existing DSL or cable internet connections if you do not already have a wireless router. If you are purchasing a new wireless router it is worth purchasing one with an "n" designation at the end (802.11b/g/n). They are available at most local electronic stores and through many online venders. Most of the time all that is needed to do is enter the wireless encryption code when your Tablet PC finds the wireless router in your home.
If your router is not wireless, you can also connect a network cable to the back of your computer and then to the router that connects to the phone line or cable modem.
