Isometric Process or Isochoric Process

An Isometric Process is a constant volume process.  This type of process is also called an Isochoric Process.

Since there is no Δ Volume then no work is done on or by the system.   If heat is added to the system the result is an increase in internal energy.  (The temperature of the system increases.  Pressure must also increase.)  If heat is removed from the system then the result is a decrease in internal energy.  (The temperature of the system decreases.  Pressure must also decrease.)

Δ =  Q + W

Δ =  Q
